As we rescue more animals in need, expand our veganic educational gardens, host more visitors from near and far, and work with newly involved permaculture interns and volunteers, we have a greater need to invite caring individuals to join us in coordinating, fundraising, and operating the farm and sanctuary. We are looking for a Communications Coordinator & Administrative Assistant to the Board of Directors, Social Media & Marketing Manager, Development Coordinator, Sanctuary Caregiver & Volunteer Coordinator, Animal Caregiver/Sanctuary Sitter, and member of the Board of Directors to join our dynamic team. Animal Caregiver / Sanctuary Sitter

  • Position Available: Dates vary

  • Time Commitment: 1+ hours a day for morning and evening feedings, cleaning

  • Location: Wild Earth Farm and Sanctuary, Irvine, KY

  • Requirements: Responsible, natural caregiver, compassionate, physically able to perform farm labor, comfortable with dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, and small pigs, 1-2 days training required before starting

  • Salary: Volunteer

  • Housing: Provided

    Twice daily feeding, watering, and letting animals in and out of barns, general daily cleaning, feed restocking, and more tasks available if interested. High speed internet available, and it’s possible to work remotely in between feedings.

Communications Coordinator & Administrative Assistant to the Board of Directors

  • Position Available: Immediately

  • Time Commitment: 5 hours minimum/week

  • Location: Remote

  • Requirements: Candidate must have excellent communication skills and be proficient in the use of Gmail, Google Docs, Mailchimp, Facebook and Instagram. Familiarity with web editing and Squarespace a plus.

  • Salary: Volunteer

    Responsible for developing a communications strategy, responding promptly to emails, answering our hotline/returning phone calls, doing online research, coordinating connecting animals in need with appropriate homes, maintaining an organizational calendar, creating and editing documents and spreadsheets, and communicating regularly with the Executive Director and Board of Directors.


Social Media & Marketing Manager

  • Position Available: Immediately

  • Time Commitment: 5 hours minimum/week

  • Location: Remote

  • Requirements: Proficiency with Gmail, Google Docs, Mailchimp, Facebook and Instagram. Familiarity with web editing and Squarespace a plus.

  • Salary: Volunteer

    Responsible for coordinating engaging content for daily posts on Facebook and Instagram, photo and video editing, answering all messages received through social media, and for managing communication on our social media (responding to all comments, shares and questions in a timely manner). Candidate will also be responsible for networking with other organizations, building our online following, and developing and implementing a powerful marketing strategy.


Development Coordinator

  • Position Available: Immediately

  • Time Commitment: 5 hours minimum/week

  • Location: Remote

  • Requirements: Fundraising experience or development training or degree, excellent communication skills and proficiency with Gmail, Google Docs, Mailchimp, Facebook fundraisers, Instagram and Patreon

  • Salary: Volunteer, with possibility of raising your salary

    Candidate will be responsible for developing a donor base, for fundraising, donor relations, developing Patreon monthly sponsors, securing diverse funding sources, building the sponsor an animal program, sending emails and tax receipts to donors and mailing thank you cards, donor base development, grant writing, and running successful fundraisers using social media, fundraising sites, and email.

    This position has the possibility to become a paid position if sufficient funds are secured.


Sanctuary Caregiver & Volunteer Coordinator

  • Position Available: Immediately

  • Time Commitment: 5 hours/week on-site, and up to 5 hours/week remote

  • Location: Wild Earth Farm and Sanctuary, Irvine, KY (4 days/month), Otherwise remote

  • Requirements: Physically able to perform farm labor, excellent communication skills and be proficient in the use of Gmail, Google Docs, Mailchimp, Facebook and Instagram.

  • Salary: Volunteer

    Candidate should be a compassionate individual with excellent management, coordination, and communication skills, and physically be able to perform the job. You will be responsible for recruiting and engaging volunteers via social media, phone, and email and coordinating at least four public volunteer days a month at the farm sanctuary, on weekends. You will need to provide new volunteers with a volunteer orientation program and basic training on sanctuary caregiving, including animal housing, cleaning and maintenance, farm and garden tasks, animal grooming and care, fencing, and general labor (advanced on-site training will be provided to you). You must be able to perform the farm tasks on-site, either on one weekend day a week or two weekends a month. Office work can be done remotely. Possibility of leading public farm sanctuary tours May-October. Will need to develop a strategy for volunteer scheduling, appointment reminders, and following up with volunteers. Positivity, patience, and good people skills are a must. The position may include overnight accommodation on-site if needed before or after volunteer days.


Member of the Board of Directors

  • Position Available: Immediately

  • Time Commitment: 10-20 hours/month

  • Location: Remote

  • Requirements: Previous Board experience preferred, fundraising experience

    Join our Board of Directors! Board members would have a passion for and well-established understanding of Wild Earth’s purpose and mission. Fundraising, advocacy, outreach, and knowledge of community building and networking is a must. Duty of care, loyalty, and obedience: Each board member has a legal responsibility to participate actively in making decisions on behalf of the organization and to exercise their judgment while doing so. Each board member must put the interests of the organization before their personal and professional interests when acting on behalf of the organization in a decision-making capacity. Board members bear the legal responsibility of ensuring that the organization complies with the applicable federal, state, and local laws and adheres to its mission. Board members are responsible for coordinating and attending at least four remote Board meetings a year via teleconference. Expectation of each Board member is to secure a minimum of $15,000 annually for the organization. The position would include working with other members of the Board of Directors to develop an Advisory Committee to supplement the Board’s activities.
